In 2017, Shawn expanded his expertise by managing high-rise building remodels in Manhattan for one of New York City’s most esteemed construction firms. However, the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 brought a temporary halt to construction activities in the city. Embracing this challenge, Shawn launched UVC Power, a UVC air sterilization company that continues to operate successfully today.
Equilibrium Builders represents Shawn’s return to his roots in the construction field. Our motto—”Form, Function, Balance”—reflects our commitment to creating beautiful, harmonious spaces that seamlessly integrate with their environments. We pride ourselves on delivering projects that not only meet but exceed client expectations, emphasizing sustainable practices and innovative design.
Shawn’s dedication to regenerative landscapes, food forests, and permaculture is evident through his Permaculture Design Certificate from Oregon State University. Additionally, he holds NYC Superintendent, BCSP Construction Health and Safety Technician, and OSHA certifications, ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality in all projects.
Based in Redding, Connecticut, Shawn, along with his wife and children, continues to drive Equilibrium Builders with a vision for excellence and a passion for creating spaces that inspire and endure.
