Why “Equilibrium”?
It’s not a catchy name. It’s hard to spell. Five syllables. A little clunky. If I were picking a brand for flash or marketing cleverness, I would’ve chosen something else.
I didn’t.
I chose Equilibrium because the principle matters to me — in how I live, and in how I want to build.
Balance over extremes
Equilibrium means balance: things finding their center and staying there. I’ve always had an extreme personality. I’ve spent a lot of my life on the edges. Getting older — studying this experiment of life — has taught me something simple and hard: the middle is better. You keep coming back to that center. That’s where we thrive.
I want the same thing for this company.
What that looks like in a remodel
On a construction project, equilibrium is harmony. A kitchen or bath that belongs in its surroundings — not shocking, not gaudy, not overproduced, and not so minimal it feels cold.
You can build something that screams. You can chase trends until the room feels costume-y. You can strip everything back until there’s no warmth left.
What people actually want — what I want to produce — is the balanced thing. The room that feels right when you walk in. Strong enough to last. Quiet enough to live in. Beautiful without needing to announce itself.
The standard
Everything we build should have balance: design and craft, boldness and restraint, the client’s vision and the realities of the desert home around it.
That’s why the name is Equilibrium. Not because it markets well — because it’s the standard I hold myself to.
